Since ancient Egypt, artists around the world have produces beautifully accurate pictures of plants to pass on knowledge for medicinal, culinary, warfare, and material purposes. Learn about the fascinating history of botanical art from Janet Parker, founder and President of Oregon Botanical Artists. Salem-based artist Aislinn Adams will also offer her thoughts on botanical art through stories about her personal pathway to becoming an illustrator. Reception to follow. Sponsored by the Willamette Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Oregon. Seating is limited. No registration or RSVP required.
