Nature Academy

Nature Academy is a series of field-study days and overnights at one of four scenic camp locations (see below). Schools can choose 2-3 overnights. We are currently accepting reservations for Fall 2023 and Spring 2024.

Who is eligible: 5th and 6th-grade classrooms and home-school groups.

Minimum: 20 students | Maximum: 90 students

Fall 2023/Spring 2024 Nature Academy Locations: 

  • Drift Creek Camp (Lincoln City, Oregon)

  • Molalla Retreat (Molalla River Corridor, Oregon)

  • Camp Baker (south of Florence, on the Oregon Coast)

  • Wi-Ne-Ma Camp (near Pacific City, Oregon)

Nature Academy outdoor school includes NGSS-aligned instruction, educational materials, field supplies, and campfire programs, plus meals, snacks, and lodging for students, chaperones, and school staff members.

The cost for classroom teachers, chaperones, school instructional assistants, and/or bus drivers is $60/person per overnight for meals and lodging. There is a minimum of one adult chaperone or school staff member required for every 15 students during each day and overnight. Check with your district or school administration regarding additional requirements for student supervision.

100% of our program fees are eligible for Measure 99 grant funding. Please contact your district outdoor school coordinator or email the OSU Outdoor School staff at outdoorschool@oregonstate.edu if you have questions.
